FAQ
How often should the sensitivity of a balance or scale be checked?
A daily test is the standard for analytical balances and it is generally required for legally verified (stamp approved) Accuracy Class I and II balances and scales.
Depending on the resolution and accuracy requirements, we recommend daily to monthly sensitivity tests.
Testing the sensitivity at the beginning of a workday (with the balance warmed-up or left in a standby state overnight) is common, however, it makes more sense to do this immediately before starting an important series of measurements - to meet especially high requirements, the sensitivity should also be tested immediately after such a series.
Because the sensitivity considerably depends on the ambient conditions, particularly on the temperature, it should be checked when high fluctuations in the temperature or barometric pressure occur.
